BIAS FX 2 Blocks the Audio/Sound from other Applications

In this guide, we will assist you in resolving the issue where you encounter difficulty playing back your music from other applications when BIAS FX 2 is open.

1. Right-click on the speaker icon on the right-bottom corner of your desktop.



2. Select "Sound settings" to open the System -> Sound window.



3. Scroll down and find Advanced -> More sound settings.



4. Select your output device and click "Properties".


5. Select the "Advanced" tag.


6. Untick 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' under Exclusive Mode and click OK.

Please make sure that the buffer size in BIAS FX 2 is not set too low, we recommend you use a 44100k sample rate and 512 buffer size as a start, you can check these settings via Settings (the gear icon) -> Audio Setting in BIAS FX 2. 

Please also make sure that the sample rates for the input and output channels of your device match.

(1) Follow steps 1 to 3.


(2) Select your input device (e.g. your audio interface) and click "Properties".

(3) Click the Advanced tab and verify or change the Default Format option

(4) Click OK then select the output device and click "Properties"mceclip6.png


(5) Make sure the Default Format option matches what you selected for your recording channel.
