Preset Management (Backup, Import & Organize)

Managing your amp presets effectively is essential for getting the most out of your BIAS Head/Rack. This guide covers backing up, importing, and organizing your presets using BIAS Amp software on both desktop and mobile platforms.

Connect your BIAS Head/Rack via USB (desktop) or Bluetooth (mobile) to manage presets between your hardware and BIAS Amp software.

Backing Up Presets

Create backup save points to protect your custom presets and restore them at any time.

Desktop

Step 1: Access Backup & Restore

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack to your computer via the USB Type-B to Type-A cable
  2. Click the Settings icon in the top right corner
  3. Select Backup & Restore

Step 2: Create Backup

  1. Click Backup
  2. Name your backup file (we recommend using a unique name or the creation date)
  3. Click OK

Your backup file will appear in the backup list. You can restore it at any time by selecting it and following the same steps.

Backup File Locations

BIAS Head/Rack Device Backups:

  • Mac: UserName/Documents/Positive Grid/BIAS Amp2/RemotePresetsWarehouse
  • Windows: C:\Documents\Positive Grid\BIAS Amp2\RemotePresetsWarehouse

BIAS Amp Desktop Software Presets:

All presets downloaded from ToneCloud are saved in the BIAS Amp folder. To back up:

  1. Copy the BIAS Amp folder to a different location, or
  2. Rename the folder (e.g., "BIAS_Backup")
  • Mac: UserName/Documents/BIAS
  • Windows: Documents\BIAS

Mobile (iOS)

Step 1: Access Backup & Restore

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack to your iPad/iPhone via Bluetooth
  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner
  3. Scroll down and tap Backup & Restore

Step 2: Create Backup

  1. Tap BACK UP NOW
  2. Enter a unique name for your backup
  3. Tap OK

You can store up to five backup points on mobile. To delete old backups, swipe left on the backup name and select Delete.

Upload all your amp presets to ToneCloud for cloud-based backup accessible from any device.


Importing Presets

Import presets from BIAS Amp software to your BIAS Head/Rack hardware.

Desktop

Step 1: Select Preset

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack to your computer via USB
  2. Click the Preset menu to access all your presets
  3. Select the preset you want to import to your hardware

Step 2: Make Adjustments (Optional)

Fine-tune the preset if needed before importing it to your hardware.

Step 3: Save to Hardware

  1. Click the Save icon next to the preset menu
  2. Select Save to Head

Step 4: Choose Location

  1. Enter the preset name
  2. Select the bank and model number
  3. Click OK

The preset is now loaded into your BIAS Head/Rack at the specified location.

Mobile (iOS)

Step 1: Select Preset

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack to your iPad/iPhone via Bluetooth
  2. Tap the Preset menu within BIAS Amp
  3. Select the amp you want to import

Once you select a preset, the signal will automatically change to that amp through your BIAS Head/Rack, allowing you to preview it before importing.

Step 2: Save to Hardware

  1. Make any final adjustments if needed
  2. Tap the Save icon next to the preset menu
  3. Tap Send to BIAS Gear

Step 3: Choose Location

  1. Select the bank and placement within that bank
  2. Rename the preset if desired
  3. Tap Overwrite

Organizing Presets

Rearrange the order of presets within your BIAS Head/Rack banks to organize them the way you prefer.

Desktop

Step 1: Access Preset Menu

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack to your computer via USB
  2. Click the Preset menu dropdown
  3. Select the bank you want to organize

Step 2: Drag and Drop

  1. Click and drag the preset you want to move
  2. Drop it into any other preset slot
  3. Release to change the order

You can swap amps across different banks by dragging them between bank views.

Mobile (iOS)

Step 1: Enter Edit Mode

  1. Connect your BIAS Head/Rack via Bluetooth
  2. Access the BIAS Head/Rack's amp list
  3. Tap Edit in the upper right corner

Step 2: Drag and Drop

  1. Drag and drop amps within the bank to reorder them
  2. Move amps across different banks if needed
  3. Tap Done to save all changes
