BIAS Head/Rack — Output Connections

BIAS Head/Rack offers multiple output options for different setups. Use this guide to connect to a cabinet, mixer, headphones, or effects loop.

Speaker Out — Cabinet / Passive Speaker

For use with Amplifier models only. Connect your instrument to the Input jack, then connect your cabinet to the Speaker Output jack.

Speaker Out

BIAS Head/Rack output power:

  • 850W RMS @ 4 ohm
  • 600W RMS @ 8 ohm
  • 300W RMS @ 16 ohm
Do not connect to a powered speaker or grounded equipment via the Speaker Out.

Line Outs — Mixer / DI / Active Speaker

Connect your instrument to the Input jack, then connect your mixer, PA, or active speaker to the Line Out TS jack or XLR on the rear panel.

Line Out

  • Balanced (XLR) — Recommended for long cable runs; keeps signal noise-free.
  • Unbalanced (TS ¼") — Adequate for home studio and short-run stage rigs.
Use the Ground Lift function on the rear panel to reduce hum when two or more pieces of equipment are connected.

Headphones

Always use the dedicated Headphone Output (¼" TRS) — never the unbalanced or powered TS outputs. High-impedance headphones are strongly recommended.

  1. Connect your instrument to the Input jack.
  2. Connect your headphones to the Headphone Output jack.

Effects Loop (Send / Return)

Before using the Effects Loop, review the Parallel and Serial Modes article.

Effects Loop

  1. Select Serial or Parallel Mode using the Utility Switch on the rear panel.
  2. Use two mono TRS ¼" cables to connect to your external effect unit.
  3. Connect Send → Input of your effect unit.
  4. Connect Output of your effect unit → Return of BIAS Head/Rack.
Enable Ground Lift when using the Effects Loop to avoid unwanted hum.
