If either the Spark LINK TX (Transmitter) or RX (Receiver) does not show the red charging LED when connected to a USB-C cable, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Try a different USB cable and charging block
Before trying the recovery procedure, rule out a faulty cable or power source.
- ✅ Use a standard USB charging block rated 5 V / 2 A.
- 🚫 Do not use a computer USB port, USB hub, or a high-speed (fast-charge) wall charger.
If the red charging LED still does not light up, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Recover Spark LINK from low-voltage protection
The reset button is located inside a small pinhole on the side of the unit (same location on both TX and RX). Use a SIM-eject tool or thin paperclip.
- Press and hold the pinhole (Reset Button).
- While still holding it, plug in the USB-C cable.
- Hold for 5 seconds.
- Unplug the USB-C cable and wait 3 seconds (keep holding the pinhole).
- Repeat steps 2–4 until the red charging LED lights up.
- Once the red LED is on, release the pinhole. The unit is now activated and will charge normally.

How many cycles will I need?
The number of plug-in / unplug cycles depends on how depleted the battery is. The table below shows approximate cycle counts measured in our lab — actual results may vary slightly between units.
| Cell voltage | TX (Transmitter) | RX (Receiver) |
|---|---|---|
| 3.0 V | ~2 cycles | ~1 cycle |
| 2.9 V | ~8 cycles | ~5 cycles |
| 2.8 V | ~12 cycles | ~10 cycles |
The lower the starting voltage, the more cycles are needed. If the red LED still does not appear after 15 cycles, please contact our support team.
Prevent this in the future: long-term storage tips
If you do not plan to use your Spark LINK for several weeks or longer, please recharge it periodically to keep the battery healthy and avoid entering protection mode.
- Top up the charge every 2–3 months, even if you are not using the unit.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place at normal room temperature.
- Aim to keep the battery between 40% and 80% for long-term storage — avoid leaving it fully empty or fully charged for many months.
