Check My Current Firmware Version

Knowing your current firmware version is essential for compatibility with the Spark app, accessing the latest features, and troubleshooting. Support may ask you to confirm your firmware version during an inquiry.


Spark Amp Firmware

  1. Make sure the Spark app is connected to your Spark amp via Bluetooth (Tone Control).
  2. Tap the Menu tab (bottom-right).
  3. Tap the product card of the connected Spark amp.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  5. Locate Firmware Version — the series of numbers below it (e.g., 2.6.2.194) is your current firmware version.

Spark Control X Firmware

  1. Make sure the Spark app is connected to your Spark amp.
  2. Tap the Menu tab (bottom-right).
  3. Connect to your Spark Control X.*
  4. Tap Spark Control X Connected directly below the Spark amp's product card.
  5. Locate Firmware Version — the series of numbers below it (e.g., 4.1.23) is your current firmware version.

Additional Tips

  • If your unit is running outdated firmware, you'll see an Update option next to the firmware version in the Spark app. For supported models, the update runs over-the-air (OTA). If OTA isn't supported, the app will link to a Help Center article with USB update instructions.
  • You can also cross-reference your current firmware version with the release notes for your Spark model to determine whether it's up to date.
