FAQs

Q: What operating systems and platforms does BIAS X support?
A: BIAS X supports Windows 10 (64-bit, version 1903 or newer) and macOS 11 or later. It runs on both Intel® Core™ and Apple Silicon Macs, with native optimization for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, etc.) to ensure the best performance.
A dedicated GPU is highly recommended for a smoother UI. 1 GB of available space on macOS, 2 GB on Windows.
Please note: BIAS X does not support ARM-based Windows systems, Linux, ChromeOS, or other operating systems.
Q: Does it support 32-bit or 64-bit systems only?
A: It's 64-bit only.
Q: What plugin formats are included, and is BIAS X compatible with my DAW? Can I also use it without a DAW?
A: BIAS X includes VST3, AAX, and AU (macOS only) plugin formats, making it compatible with most major DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Reaper, and more. It also runs in standalone mode, so you can use it without a DAW.
Q: Is there a mobile version of BIAS X?
A: No, BIAS X is available for desktop only. There is no mobile (iOS/Android) version.
Q: Do I need the internet to use the software?
A: Yes, for initial activation and periodic license checks (The activation will only expire if you don’t use BIAS X at all during those 90 days.).
Q: What do I need to use BIAS X? Do I need any special hardware?
A: All you need is a guitar, a cable, an audio interface, and a compatible computer.
Any CoreAudio (Mac) or ASIO (Windows) compatible audio interface should work just fine.
Q: Can I use a MIDI foot controller or expression pedal with this software, or write automation to control it?
A: MIDI control and automation support won’t be available at launch, so controlling the amp or effects via MIDI or automation is not currently possible.
Q: Can I gig with this software running on a laptop? Is it stable for live?
A: Yes, it’s stable enough for live use if your laptop and setup are up to the task, but please beware there'll be no MIDI support at launch.
Q: Is it compatible with other hardware (Spark, etc.)?
A: No. BIAS X is software-only and does not natively run on Spark or other Positive Grid hardware.
Q: I’d like to use BIAS X with my prefered DAW, but the DAW is not listed on the system requirements chart. Can I still use it?
A: BIAS X has been tested on most mainstream DAWs and runs stably in the majority of environments. However, since compatibility may vary across different DAW versions, we cannot guarantee full support for every release. If you encounter any issues, we recommend testing in another host/DAW environment or contacting our support team for assistance.
