User Interface Overview
Top Bar
- Preset Name: Displays the name of the current preset.
- Save: Save the current preset
- Save As: Save as a new preset
- Undo / Redo: Undo or redo recent actions in the Signal Chain
Signal Chain
Tutorial Video
Located at the top of the main screen, the Signal Chain shows the complete routing from input to output. You can add, remove, and rearrange modules here to build your tone.
- Add/Replace Gear: Click the Gear button in the sidebar to add or replace gear
- Move Gear: Drag a module to reposition it
- Remove Gear: Right-click and select Delete
- Power Off Gear: Drag the module upward or right-click and select Power Off
- Dual Path: Hover over the signal path and click the Split icon. Click again to return to a single path. You can also click the Mix icon to blend both paths.

Module Detail View
Amp/Pedal
Clicking a module in the signal chain brings up its detailed controls for fine-tuning.
CAB
The new cabinet engine uses high-resolution sampling and flexible mic placement.
Features
- Cabinet Type: Select the cabinet model from the Gear Menu
- Microphone Type: Choose the microphone model
- Level: Adjust the microphone output level
- Position: Set the microphone placement on the speaker (on-axis, off-axis, and distance)
- Pan: Control the left/right stereo placement of the microphone
- Mix: Adjust the blend ratio between the left and right microphones

IR Loader

The IR (Impulse Response) Loader in BIAS X allows users to load third-party cabinet simulations for enhanced tone customization beyond the built-in cabinet models
Compatible IR File Formats:

Loading your IR
- Navigate to the Cabinet module in your signal chain.
- Select the IR tab.
- Click the Load IR button to import a .wav IR file from your computer.
- Saving the preset will automatically save the loaded IR
- To change IRs, simply load a new file to replace the current one.
