Spark LIVE Firmware Troubleshooting

FAQ

Q: My computer does not detect Spark LIVE.
A: Please attempt to connect to a different USB port directly on the rear of your computer and refrain from using a USB hub.
Q: After the firmware update, Spark LIVE cannot be connected via Bluetooth.
A: Navigate to the Bluetooth settings of your device, unpair or forget the previous connection with Spark LIVE Audio, and then open the Spark app to connect Tone Control before connecting Spark LIVE Audio.
Q: The firmware update failed, and I can't power on the Spark LIVE anymore.
A: If the power to the Spark LIVE is interrupted during the MCU update process, the update will fail, and the device will not be able to power on. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue and continue the update process:

2. Disconnect USB: Unplug the USB cable to disconnect the Spark LIVE from your computer.
3. Disconnect Power: Unplug the Spark LIVE from the power outlet.
4. Download Alternative Firmware Updater: macOSWindows

For macOS users:

Unzip the updater file, then right-click and select 'Open' to launch it.

For Windows users:

Do either of the following

  • Double-click on Spark LIVE Firmware Updater.bat to start the updater.

  • Right-click on Spark LIVE Firmware Updater.bat and select "Run as administrator" to start the updater.

If you are unable to launch the firmware updater, please refer to the guide on "Open a Mac app from an unknown developer" or "Run a BAT File on Windows".
Rest assured, this updater is specifically designed to update your Spark amp. It is completely safe, clean, and free from viruses.
6. Connect the Spark LIVE to your computer via the USB cable, then follow the instructions within the alternative updater to complete the process.
7. If the update is unsuccessful, send us the spark_live_updater.log file from the following folder:
  • macOS:
    /Documents/PositiveGrid

  • Windows:
