Host Automation

Host Automation allows your DAW to control BIAS X parameters using automation lanes. This feature is only available when BIAS X is used as a plugin (VST3/AU/AAX). Automation settings are stored per preset, meaning changes will follow the preset you’re working in.

Entering Automation Mode

To assign automation targets:

  1. Open BIAS X as a plugin inside your DAW.
  2. Click the Automation button located beneath the Preset name.

Assigning Automation

  1. In Automation Mode, click any supported parameter (knobs, switches, sliders).
  2. Assign the selected parameter to one of the available automation slots.

Assigning Automation

Any changes to automation must be saved by clicking Save Preset to store them with the current preset.

Automation Mapping List

The Automation Mapping List displays all automation assignments saved in the current preset.

To open the list:

  1. Enter Automation Mode.
  2. Click the Mapping List.

The list contains up to 16 automation slots (Param 1–Param 16), each showing:

  • Gear: Shows which gear in the signal path is being assigned.
  • Parameter: Shows the specific parameter for that gear.
  • Indicate: Highlights the corresponding parameter in the interface for easy identification.
  • Remove: Deletes mapping.
