If your Spark GO will not charge or turn on, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Before You Begin
- The Spark GO uses an internal 18650-style battery (2500 mAh).
- Power input specification: DC 5V, 1.2A. Compatible with most mobile USB-C chargers.
Check Cable and Charger
Try a different USB-C cable. The included cable is USB-C to USB-A — make sure it is firmly seated in both the Spark GO and the charger. A damaged or low-quality cable is the most common cause of charging issues.
Use a charger that provides at least 5V / 2A output. Low-power USB ports (such as those on older computers at 0.5A) may not provide enough current to charge the unit reliably. Try a dedicated wall charger or a phone charger rated at 2A or higher.
Also try a different wall outlet or USB port to rule out issues with the power source itself.
LED Indicators
When charging is working correctly, the LEDs will display the following:
| LED State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Flashing Red/Green | Charging in progress |
| Solid Green | Fully charged |
| Solid Red | Low battery (last 10%) |
If no LED lights up at all when plugged in, continue to the next section.
Force Shutdown
If the Spark GO appears frozen or unresponsive:
- Remove the USB cable from the Spark GO.
- Press and hold the Power/Pair button for over 10 seconds until the unit powers off completely.
- Release the button, then reconnect the USB-C cable and wait for the charging LED to appear.
Deeply Drained Battery
If the battery is completely drained, the Spark GO may not show any LED indicator immediately when plugged in. This is normal. Leave it connected to a known-good charger for at least 30 minutes, then check if the LED appears.
After 30 minutes of charging, try pressing the Power/Pair button to turn it on.
