The Tone Screen

← Back to REACTOR App User Guide

The Tone screen is your home base for playing and managing tones. Learn how to navigate, select presets, and access key features.

Screen Layout

The Tone screen is organized into four areas from top to bottom:

  1. Top Bar — Shows the current preset name. Tap the name to browse presets. The three-dot menu opens the Preset Action Menu. The gear icon opens Settings.
  2. Signal Chain — A horizontal strip showing every module in your tone (amp, effects, EQ) in processing order.
  3. Control Panel — Knobs, sliders, and switches for the currently selected module.
  4. Bottom Bar — Navigation tabs for Tone, Creator Hub, and ToneCloud.

Selecting a Preset

Tap the preset name in the top bar to open the Preset Menu — a bottom sheet showing all your presets in a two-column grid. Each card displays the preset name, tags, gain stage, and a favorite icon.

  • Tap a preset to load it on your REACTOR.
  • Double-tap to load it and close the menu in one step.
  • Tap the heart icon on any card to toggle it as a favorite.

A small dot next to the preset name in the top bar indicates unsaved changes to the current tone.

The Preset Action Menu

The three-dot menu button to the left of the preset name opens the Preset Action Menu with the following options:

Action Description
Save Overwrite the current preset with your changes.
Save as New Preset Create a new preset from your current tone. Enter a name, choose a folder, and review suggested tags.
Edit Preset Details Update the preset's name and tags without changing any sound parameters.
Upload to ToneCloud Share the preset with the Positive Grid community.
Assign to REACTOR Write the preset to a hardware slot on your REACTOR. Choose a slot number to assign it. (Requires connection)

Long-Press Context Menu

You can also long-press any preset card in the Preset Menu to open a context menu for that specific preset:

Move To Move the preset to a different folder.
