How to care for and maintain your Spark Battery (safety guidelines)

The Spark Battery is a 6,000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. With proper care it will deliver years of reliable playtime. Please read the guidelines below before first use.

The Spark Battery is considered a consumable item. Capacity will gradually decline with normal use over time — this is expected behavior for all lithium-ion batteries.

Everyday care

  • Charge regularly. A full charge takes about 3 hours when installed in a powered Spark amp. There is no need to fully drain the battery before recharging.
  • Keep the battery installed. The battery can stay in your amp during everyday use. You do not need to remove it after each session.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures. Use and store the battery in normal room temperature conditions. Avoid leaving it in a hot car, in direct sunlight, or in freezing conditions.
  • Keep dry. Do not expose the battery to water, moisture, or humid environments.

Long-term storage

If you will not use the battery for several weeks or more:

  • Charge it to around 50–70% before storage — do not store fully empty or fully charged for long periods.
  • Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
  • Top up the charge every 2–3 months to keep the battery healthy.

Safety guidelines

Lithium-ion batteries require careful handling. Follow these safety rules at all times.

Stop using the battery immediately if you notice any of the following signs, and contact our support team:
  • Swelling, bulging, or deformation
  • Unusual smell, smoke, or visible leakage
  • Overheating during normal use or charging
  • Visible physical damage after being dropped

Do not:

  • Disassemble, modify, puncture, or crush the battery.
  • Expose the battery to fire, open flames, or temperatures above 60°C (140°F).
  • Short-circuit the battery terminals with metal objects.
  • Charge the battery with a third-party charger — only charge it inside a compatible Spark amp.
  • Continue using the battery if the amp's battery slot or contacts are damaged.

Disposal: Do not dispose of the battery in household trash. Recycle through a local electronics or battery recycling program in accordance with your regional regulations.

Air travel

The Spark Battery is a 6,000 mAh (approximately 22 Wh) lithium-ion battery and is generally permitted in carry-on luggage on most commercial flights. It should not be packed in checked baggage. Always confirm current rules with your airline before flying, as regulations can change.

Warranty note

Because the Spark Battery is a consumable item, its capacity over time is influenced by usage habits and storage conditions. Standard product warranty does not cover normal capacity loss. Manufacturing defects identified shortly after purchase are handled on a case-by-case basis — please contact our support team if you suspect an issue.
