Spark PEDAL has two editing modes. Press the Main (center) Knob to switch between them. The side knobs control different settings depending on which mode you're in.

FX Mode

Each side knob controls an effect category (Drive, Mod, Delay, Reverb):

Turn a knob to choose one of four effect types in that category.
Adjust the effect's level or mix using the same knob within its range.

Turn the Main (center) Knob to adjust overall volume.

AMP Mode

Each side knob controls an amp parameter:

Drive knob: Gain
Mod knob: Bass
Delay knob: Mid
Reverb knob: Treble

Turn the Main (center) Knob to switch between the six amp models: Clean, Bass, Glassy, Crunch, Hi-Gain, Metal.

Effects Beyond the Knob Labels

Each FX knob (Drive, Mod, Delay, Reverb) shows four labeled effects on the bezel. The Spark app lets you assign additional effects beyond these four - for example, Clone Drive can be assigned to the Drive knob alongside Boost, OD, Dist, and Fuzz.

When you load a preset that uses a custom effect, the effect takes over the position the knob is on at the moment the preset loads. You can then adjust the custom effect by rotating the knob within that position's range - exactly the way you'd adjust the labeled effect that normally lives there.

The other three positions on the knob continue to control their labeled effects. The custom effect stays in its assigned position for as long as the preset is active - turning away and back doesn't reset it.

Example: How a custom effect appears on the pedal

Drive knob position when preset loaded: OD
Custom effect in the preset: Clone Drive

→ The OD position now controls Clone Drive.

→ Turning to Boost / Dist / Fuzz engages those labeled effects as usual.

→ Loading a different preset clears the custom assignment; the four labeled effects return.

Tip: You decide which labeled effect gets covered.

Because the custom effect attaches to the knob position at the moment of preset loading, you can choose which labeled effect to set aside. If Clone Drive lands on OD but you'd rather keep OD accessible and sacrifice Fuzz instead:

Switch to another preset.
Turn the Drive knob to Fuzz.
Switch back to the original preset.

Clone Drive now occupies the Fuzz position. OD is available again.

Note: The knob bezel doesn't visually change when a custom effect is active - the labels remain the same. To confirm which effect is currently assigned to each position, check the Spark app.
