Spark PEDAL Battery Not Charging – Help Center

If Spark PEDAL isn't charging, or the battery drains without charging while the USB-C cable is connected, follow the steps below to identify the cause.

The battery inside Spark PEDAL is built-in and non-removable. Do not attempt to open the unit.

Step 1: Check the Charging Indicator

With the USB-C power cable connected, look at the Power Indicator on the top panel:

Flashing colors — Charging normally. If the color changes over time, this is expected as the battery reaches different charge levels.
Solid Green — Fully charged, or powered on with a battery level of 50-100%.
Solid Yellow — Low battery.
Solid Red — Needs charging urgently.
No light at all — Continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Check the Cable and Power Adapter

Spark PEDAL requires DC 5V / 1A minimum for charging via USB-C.

Try a different USB-C cable. Some USB-C cables are power-only (no data) or built for slow charging — use a cable rated for at least 5V/1A.
Try a different power adapter. A phone or laptop adapter that outputs at least 5V/1A will work. Avoid low-output USB hubs.
Try a different wall outlet or a computer USB port directly (not through an unpowered hub).
Confirm the USB-C connector is fully seated in Spark PEDAL — the connector should click into place.

Step 3: Force Shutdown & Restart

If the charging indicator still shows no activity:

Disconnect the USB-C power cable.
Hold the Power button for 10 seconds or more to force shutdown.
Wait a few seconds, then reconnect the USB-C power cable.
Observe the Power Indicator — it should begin flashing to show charging has started.

Battery Drains Too Fast

If Spark PEDAL charges normally but runs out of power much faster than the expected ~7 hours of standard use:

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi consume power. If you're not actively using the Spark app or streaming audio, keeping wireless connections idle may reduce battery life. Toggle these off when not needed.
Higher output levels use more power. Playing at high MAIN KNOB volume or driving line outputs into a PA at high levels will shorten runtime.
Age of the battery. Lithium-ion batteries lose capacity over time. If your Spark PEDAL is several years old and battery life has degraded significantly, contact support to discuss options.

Your Spark PEDAL serial number (15 characters, starting with SPL1, no spaces — found on the bottom of the unit or the bottom of the original packaging).
A description of the charging behavior you're seeing (LED color, cable/adapter you used, how long you've had the unit).
