Can I use Spark MINI without the Spark app connected?
Yes. Spark MINI includes four factory presets covering common amp and effect tones, so you can plug in and play instantly without connecting to the Spark app.
Do I need to update the Spark app to use Spark MINI?
No, you can use Spark MINI as-is. But the app update is easy, free, and unlocks features you may love - accurate in-app tuner, switchable headphone/line-out mode, 2nd-generation Smart Jam, and more.
Can Spark MINI load the same presets I have on Spark 40?
Yes. Your favorite Spark 40 presets can be loaded and played on Spark MINI via the Spark app. Make sure the presets are saved locally on your device, then connect the same device to Spark MINI to load them.
Is the Experience Jimi Hendrix™ for Spark expansion pack compatible with Spark MINI?
Yes, the Experience Jimi Hendrix Gear collection is compatible with Spark MINI.
Connectivity & I/O
Does Spark MINI have a line-out?
Yes. Spark MINI has a switchable Headphone / Line Out jack (3.5mm) on the rear panel for use with powered monitors, FRFR cabs, and PA mixers. See Headphone / Line Out Settings for how to switch modes.
Does Spark MINI support USB connection with iOS devices?
No, USB connection with iOS devices is not officially supported. Some users have reported communication working, but this is not tested or supported. The only officially supported USB connection is with a computer (Mac or PC).
Can I connect other instruments (keyboard, vocal mic) to Spark MINI?
Spark MINI is designed for guitar, but you can use it with keyboards or a microphone via a proper adapter into the main Guitar Input.
Does Spark MINI work with a foot switch?
Yes. Spark Control is our officially supported foot switch for Spark MINI. It lets you control Spark app functions hands-free - great for practice, stage, or studio.
Can I purchase two Spark MINIs and stereo pair them?
You can use two Spark MINIs together via an external stereo effects unit, but the two units do not link to each other directly and cannot be controlled from a single app instance.

Does Spark MINI come with a charger?
Spark MINI includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable that works with your computer or most smartphone chargers. A wall charging brick is not included in the box.
What charger is safe to charge Spark MINI?
Spark MINI has built-in charging protection, so it can be charged with any standard USB charger - computer USB port, smartphone brick, MacBook charger, etc.
How long does it take to charge Spark MINI?
Charging time depends on the charger:
- Regular 1.5A charger: ~2 hours
- 2A charger: ~1.5 hours
- Computer USB port (0.5~1A): 3~6 hours
How long is Spark MINI's playing time on a full battery?
Playing time depends on the speaker volume and the number of audio inputs:
At 50% output (volume knobs at 10 o'clock):
- 8 hours for music playback only
- 6 hours for guitar + music simultaneously
At 100% output (full volume):
- 6 hours for music playback only
- 3.5 hours for guitar + music simultaneously
Can I bring my Spark MINI on airplanes?
Yes, Spark MINI can go in your carry-on baggage. It has a built-in 3,000 mAh lithium-ion battery, which is approved for air travel.
Per TSA guidelines, spare/uninstalled lithium batteries must be carried in carry-on only. Since Spark MINI's battery is built in, carry-on is fine.
