Q: BIAS Amp comes in two versions – Standard and Professional. What are the differences between the two versions?
A: In short, BIAS Amp (Professional) offers more options to choose from. It gives you access to more preamp and poweramp options, cabinet models, IR loader (Impulse Response), as well as the Amp Match feature. The Professional version also gives you access to all presets found on the ToneCloud. To see a side-by-side comparison between the Standard and Professional versions, please see the article below:

Q: Are there any expansion packs available for BIAS Amp?
A: Yes, but only for the iOS version. BIAS Amp (iOS) has three expansion packs to choose from – Glassy Pack, Crunch Pack, and Insane Pack. Each of them unlocks additional options for preamp, poweramp, cabinet models, and amps. There are no expansion packs for the desktop version. BIAS Amp (desktop) comes in two packages – Standard or Professional.
Q: Can I install and use BIAS Amp on multiple computers?
A: Yes. With each purchase (Standard or Professional), you get two licenses. This means that you can have two, fully working BIAS Amp (Standard or Professional) on two computers simultaneously. Once you have reached the license limit and would like to free up a license seat, just run the software uninstaller to uninstall BIAS Amp on one of your computers and you'll now have the option to use that license seat on another computer. Make sure that you have an internet connection when you uninstall so our server can detect the change.
Q: Where is the BIAS Amp folder located?
A: By default, BIAS Amp will be installed to the following location:
Mac
~/Documents/Bias/
Windows
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Bias
Q: Where are my saved presets located?
A: Your presets can be found at the following locations. It is also recommended that you keep a backup of your entire BIAS Amp folder.
Mac
/Users/(User name)/Documents/Bias/GlobalPresets
/Users/(User name)/Documents/Bias/ModulePresets
Windows
C:\user\(user name)\documents\BIAS\GlobalPresets
C:\user\(user name)\documents\BIAS\ModulePresets
Q: Where is the BIAS Amp plugin folder located?
A: On a Mac OS X system, the plugins will be installed to the following locations:
- Audio Units - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
- VST 2.0 - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
- AAX - /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
Please make sure these locations have been added to the list of locations in your DAW application.
On a Windows system, you can choose the install location for the plugin. We strongly recommend that you use the default install locations, and add the correct locations in your DAW application. The default install locations are:
- VST 2.0 (32-bit) - C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins
- VST 2.0 (64-bit) - C:\Program Files\VstPlugins
- AAX - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
In addition, some DAW applications will have their own default install location. Alternatively, you can also copy the BIAS VST DLL file and paste it to your default plug-in folder.
Q: I'm trying to download presets from ToneCloud, but it keeps saying "This feature request Standard or Professional version to unlock." ?
A: Some tones on the Tonecloud require upgrading to BIAS AMP Professional. Please try to download the preset named "Strat Plexi". This one should work with BIAS AMP Standard. If it does, it just means the tones that aren't downloading require BIAS AMP Professional.
