Q: Where can I buy BIAS Distortion/Delay/Modulation Pro?

Q: I don’t have the redeem code for my BIAS Distortion Pro, what can I do?
A: Every unit comes with a redeem card for BIAS Distortion Pro (desktop only). If you can’t find the redeem card inside the box, or you have problems redeeming the code, please open a support ticket at: https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us and send us a copy of the receipt.

 
Q: I purchased it used through a local music shop, do I need to buy the BIAS Pedal - Distortion software?
A: We are not able to transfer the license from the previous owner to you due to our software license policy. You will need to purchase the BIAS Pedal - Distortion (desktop) if the software license was already claimed by the previous owner.


Q: What MIDI footswitch do you recommend to use with the BIAS Pedal Distortion?
A: BIAS Pedal series is compatible with both MIDI PC/CC signals. You can change presets through MIDI PC signal as well as adjusting certain parameters via MIDI CC signal with your MIDI footswitch. Please refer to the manual for further details.


Q: What type of expression pedal do you recommend for BIAS Distortion Pro?
A: The following expression pedal types have been reported by our users to work with the BIAS Pedal series.
Roland EV-7, EV-5 & Korg EXP-2, Hotone Soul Press, etc.


Q: Does BIAS Distortion Pro come with built-in amp simulation?
A: No, BIAS Distortion Pro works like a traditional distortion pedal. You need to route it in front of a guitar amp/stack for better performance. However, if you connect the pedal to your computer (via USB) or iPad (via Bluetooth), the Amp Room feature inside the BIAS Pedal software offers amp simulation. 


Q:
Will it do other pedal types as well or just distortion effects?
A: BIAS Distortion Pro is designed for the purpose of simulating all distortion effects.

 
Q: Is it 100% plug-and-play or do I need to engage other software?
A: Yes, it is 100% plug-and-play right out of the box. The 20 default presets on-board the unit cover a wide range of distortion effects. In addition, you can tweak the presets using the on-board parameters and save the results directly within the unit. With BIAS Pedal software, you can further design your favorite pedals at component level and manage your presets with your PC/Mac.
 

Q:
Does the blend dial blend’ the wet and dry signals, similar to the Darkglass or Sansamp pedals?
A: Not quite the same. BIAS Distortion features two separated distortion modules Clipping Stage and Output Stage. With the BLEND knob, you can adjust the mix ratio between these two modules.
 

Q:
What are the types of distortions included, like JFET Circuit for example is that included? 
A: It comes with almost any kind of distortion you can think of, such as tube, germanium, silicon, JFET, MOSFET, etc.Furthermore, BIAS Distortion comes with two separated modules so you can choose different diodes and circuits for each module and blend them together to create unique sounds.


Q:
Can you gain-stack with it?
A: Unfortunately no. BIAS Distortion Pro can only engage one preset at a time. However, BIAS Pedal Distortion comes with an additional booster that allows you apply volume or gain boost for your distortion tone.


Q:
Is the pedal true bypass?
A: Yes, BIAS Distortion Pro supports both true bypass and buffer bypass. The default setting is buffer bypass.
