FAQ - JamUp

Q: What should I do when I see "The Song is in the cloud" in Jam Player?
A: Jam function can only load the songs from your iTunes music library. If the songs are stored in iCloud, please download them to your device in order to make them work.

If you wish to use the songs you found on the net, please download them and make sure you save them to your iTunes music library. You can browse and check if you have the songs available when you connect your iOS device to a Mac / PC. Open iTunes and you will get to see the list.

Q: How to load songs from iTunes music library in Jam Player?
A: If you have trouble loading songs into Jam Player, please check out the image below.

Tap "Make Available Offline" in Music App, make sure the music is completely downloaded. And you're good to go!

If you worry that the volume of the loaded songs can be too high, you can tune the volume knob in Jam Player a bit lower before loading. You can do so when you want to practice with a backing track, or avoid the sound blasting your speakers. This wouldn't affect the total output sound at all.

Q: How to restore previous In-App purchases?
A: You can use the "Restore Purchase" button in JamUp Store -> Bundle -> Restore Purchase to bring back your previous purchases.

Make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID. AppStore will not charge you twice for any purchase, as long as you are using the same Apple ID.

Note that the App Store doesn't allow transferring in-app purchases between JamUp XT and JamUp Pro XT.

Q: What's the difference between JamUp and JamUp Pro?
A: The only difference between JamUp and JamUp Pro is the contents in the "JamUp Pro Upgrade" expansion pack and the amount of factory presets.
For JamUp users, once you purchase the "JamUp Pro Upgrade", your selection of amps and effects will be exactly the same as JamUp Pro, though JamUp Pro will still offer a few more factory presets.

Q: Why is there a red bar on top of my home screen when I run JamUp?
A: JamUp supports background audio mode. It allows you to keep the sound and effect of JamUp in the background, while opening another app on the front, such as a music sheet app.

You can disable the background audio mode on the settings page. Once it's disabled, you will not see the red bar, and the sound effects will be muted when you go back to the home screen / switch to another app.

Q: Can I import a stereo track into the 8-Track recorder?
A: Yes, you can import from your iTunes music library to the recorder, just tap any empty area in the recorder to show the import menu.

Q: How do I connect to external speakers?
A: JamUp and BIAS are both designed for working with external monitor speakers or PA systems. It depends on your setup, we recommend using a stereo 1/8" cable with a 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor. For some systems, you can try to use the speaker output mode on the settings page, or you can try using stereo cable but only plug left or right into your amp/PA.

Q: How to Move Presets from One Device to Another?

Q: Can I choose and use more than one effect under same categories?
A: For those who seek possibilities, JamUp supports running multiple effects even from the same effect categories, literally up to six.

For example, you can arrange two distortion pedals, one distortion with one compressor, or two delay effects on the signal path.

To do that, you can double-tap on the small icon on the signal path to get the effect menu. Select, and choose any of the unused effects in all categories to freely customize your own presets!

Q: What are the supported file formats?
A: Compatible audio formats as below:

.AAC (M4A, M4B, and M4P up to 320 Kbps)

.MP3 (up to 320 Kbps)

.MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)

.WAV

Note: Since Apple added DRM protection for iTunes Music, Jam Player doesn't support DRM protected audio files.

Q: Why can't I share some of my tones to JamUp ToneCloud?

A: The "Share" function is available with JamUp amps. If you have purchased BIAS Amp, you will get an integration and be able to use BIAS Amp features in JamUp. However, the ones that sync from BIAS Amp cannot be uploaded to the Share page.

Q: What is the difference between using JamUp as IAA and using JamUp plugin in Auria?

A: If you're using Auria and hope to use JamUp with it as a plugin, then you need to purchase the JamUp pack in Auria's in-app purchase. However, if you already own JamUp / JamUp Pro app (on AppStore), they can be loaded and used on Auria as IAA files. Please notice that JamUp (in-app plugin) in Auria is only available in the Auria series. If you wish to use JamUp / JamUp Pro as an individual, you will have to purchase them on the AppStore.

Q: Is JamUp and your other apps available on Android?

A: No. JamUp and our apps are only available on iOS. Our desktop products are available on Windows and Mac OSX.

Q: What is included in All Access Pack?

A: If you purchase All Access Pack, you will get literally all of the amps/effects in JamUp. And you don't have to buy any other packs.

Q: Can I use my Bluetooth speakers with JamUp?

A: In order to make sure we reduce the potential interference and latency as much as possible, we have disabled this function. So that JamUp can work smoothly with MIDI controllers and work with low latency when recording through audio interfaces.
