Connecting BIAS Amp Software (Desktop & Mobile)

By pairing BIAS Head or BIAS Rack with BIAS Amp software, you can access advanced customization options for tone creation, preset management, and firmware updates. This guide covers how to connect your hardware to both desktop and mobile versions of BIAS Amp.

BIAS Amp 2 Professional software (desktop) comes free with your BIAS Head/Rack purchase. You can also download the free BIAS Amp 2 mobile app from the App Store for iOS devices.
BIAS Rack Users

If you're using BIAS Rack, install the bundled antenna (included in the accessory box) onto the WIRELESS connector on the back panel before connecting to mobile devices. This ensures optimal connection quality. The antenna can be easily hand-tightened without additional tools.

Desktop (Mac/PC)

Connect your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack to BIAS AMP 2 Professional Desktop software using the included USB cable.

Connecting via USB

Step 1: Prepare the Connection

  1. Install and open BIAS Amp 2 Professional Desktop on your computer
  2. Locate the USB Type-B to Type-A cable supplied with your unit
  3. Important: Keep your BIAS device powered off until BIAS Amp 2 Desktop is fully installed and set up

Step 2: Connect the USB Cable

  1. Plug the USB cable into the back of your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack

Step 3: Register Your Device

  1. Once the connection is established, a registration notification will appear
  2. Click REGISTER to complete the setup

Disconnecting

To safely disconnect your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack:

  1. Open the Settings menu in BIAS Amp 2 Desktop
  2. Click Eject to disconnect the device
  3. The Settings menu will return to its original state once ejected

Mobile (iOS)

Connect your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack wirelessly to the BIAS Amp 2 mobile app using Bluetooth.

Device Requirements

You'll need an iPad or iPhone equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 (BT LE) to establish a wireless connection. The following devices are compatible:

iPad Models

  • iPad 3rd generation and later
  • iPad mini (all models)
  • iPad Air and Air 2
  • iPad Pro (all models)

iPhone Models

  • iPhone 4S and later
  • iPhone 5/5S/5C
  • iPhone 6/6S/6 Plus/6S Plus
  • iPhone 7/7 Plus
  • iPhone 8/8 Plus
  • iPhone X and later

Connecting via Bluetooth

Step 1: Download the App

  1. Download BIAS Amp 2 from the App Store
  2. Install the app on your iOS device

Step 2: Enable Wireless Mode

  1. Turn on your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack
  2. Verify that the Wireless button is flashing blue

Step 3: Connect from the App

  1. Open the BIAS Amp 2 app
  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap the Connect icon
  4. The app will begin searching for your BIAS Head/Rack

While BIAS Head/Rack is connecting, do not disconnect or turn off Bluetooth. This may interrupt the pairing process.

Step 4: Access Your Presets

  1. Once connected, tap the Preset menu to access all your presets
  2. You can now edit, create, and manage presets from your iOS device

To disconnect your BIAS Head or BIAS Rack:

  1. Open the Settings menu in the app
  2. Tap EJECT
  3. The device will safely disconnect
