Assign functions to Spark Control X

Assign the four footswitches on Spark Control X to functions you use most - switch presets, toggle effects, control playback, and more. This guide covers selecting a default profile, customizing commands, and managing your profiles.

Before You Begin

1. Update the Spark app to the latest version.
2. Update your Spark amp firmware to the latest version. See the firmware release notes for your amp model.
3. Update Spark Control X firmware to the latest version. See: Spark Control X Firmware Update.

4. Make sure Spark Control X is connected to your Spark amp and shown in the Spark app.

Select a Profile

Spark Control X ships with four preset profiles. Pick the one that matches how you want to use the footswitches.

1. On the Tone page, tap the Control icon next to the ToneCloud button to open the Command Assignment Menu.

   

2. Tap the profile name at the top of the menu.

   

3. Select your preferred profile.

   

Customize and Assign Commands

1. On the Tone page, tap the Control icon next to the ToneCloud button to open the Command Assignment Menu.

   

2. Tap the footswitch you'd like to reassign.

   

3. Select an action and tap Done in the top-right corner.

   

4. Once a switch is modified, an asterisk (*) appears next to the profile name to indicate unsaved changes.

   

5. Tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner to save the modified profile.

   

Delete a Profile

1. Tap the profile name.

   

2. Tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner.

   

3. Tap Delete to reset the profile.

   

Reset Profile Settings

1. Tap the profile name.

   

2. Tap Reset Profile Settings at the bottom.
