Spark EDGE Firmware Update (USB) – Help Center

We highly recommend updating your amplifier's firmware to the latest version to access the newest features and enhancements for Spark EDGE.

Before you begin

Update the Spark app to the latest version.
Back up your customized presets on your amp. For guidance, refer to: Backup & Restore Tone Presets.
Make sure Spark EDGE’s power cord is connected throughout the update process.

Spark EDGE Firmware Updater

System Requirement: macOS 11 or later / Windows 10 or later.
The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.

Download and unzip/extract the Spark EDGE firmware updater to your computer.
Launch the firmware updater:
- For Mac users, please right-click on the Spark EDGE Firmware Updater and select "Open".
- For Windows users, you can do either of the following:
  - Double-click on Spark EDGE Firmware Updater.bat to start the updater.
  - Right-click on Spark EDGE Firmware Updater.bat and select "Run as administrator" to start the updater.
If you are unable to launch the firmware updater, please refer to the guide on "Open a Mac app from an unknown developer" or "Run a BAT File on Windows".
Rest assured, this updater is specifically designed to update your Spark amp. It is completely safe, clean, and free from viruses.
Plug in the power cord and turn on the Spark EDGE. Connect your Spark EDGE to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
Click "Next" and wait for a moment, and the updater will display the device type (Spark EDGE) and the version to install.
Click "Update Wireless Module," and the updater will update the wireless module on the Spark EDGE.

Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off your Spark EDGE/computer while updating.
To update the MCU (microcontroller unit), simultaneously press and hold the power button and the pair button until the power LED lights up in white. Then click "Next".
Wait for a moment, and the updater will display the device type and the version to install. Click "Update MCU".
The updater will proceed to update the MCU on Spark EDGE.
Done! You can now quit the updater, power up your Spark EDGE, and you are ready to rock!

If attempts to update the firmware keep failing, please try to update the firmware with a different computer.
Also, try resetting your Spark EDGE to factory default before the next attempt.
You can check the firmware version of the Spark EDGE by clicking on the product card when it's connected to the Spark app.
