Spark MINI Firmware Troubleshooting

FAQ

Q: My computer does not detect Spark MINI.
A: Please attempt to connect to a different USB port directly on the rear of your computer and refrain from using a USB hub.
For Mac users, please try resetting PRAM/NVRAM:
How to Reset PRAM or NVRAM
Q: After the firmware update, Spark MINI cannot be connected via Bluetooth.
A: Navigate to the Bluetooth settings of your device, unpair or forget the previous connection with Spark MINI Audio, and then open the Spark app to connect Tone Control before connecting Spark MINI Audio.
Q: What should I do if the updater gets stuck at 2% or shows Error Code: -2?
A: Try running the updater again and see if that resolves the issue.
Q: If the Bluetooth update is interrupted midway (between 5% and 37%), what should I do?
A:  Do not immediately reconnect the USB for updating. Wait for about one to two minutes until the device shuts down on its own, then restart it before attempting to communicate with the updater again.

If you encounter any of these problems after a firmware update, follow the steps below to get an alternative updater:

    • Update Failure: The update didn't finish successfully.
    • Device Problem: The Spark is unresponsive or 'bricked.'
    • LED Issue: The LED lights on the Spark are blinking.

Obtaining the Alternative Firmware Updater

  1. Locate the chatbot in the bottom right corner of this page.

  2. Enter the serial number of your Spark MINI into the chatbot.
If the chatbot didn't prompt you to enter the serial number, please type in 'Spark MINI Alternative'.

You can find the serial number of your Spark MINI on the rear of the unit, adjacent to the USB port. The serial number for the Spark follows this format: S1012G1xxxxxxxx (15 digits without a space).

  3. The chatbot will then provide you with a link to download the alternative firmware updater.

    System Requirements for the Updater:

    • macOS: 10.13 or later
    • Windows: 8 or later

The updater does not support all other systems, including Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems not listed. Ensure your system meets these requirements to successfully use the firmware updater.
