FAQ

Q: My computer does not detect Spark GO.
A: Please attempt to connect to a different USB port directly on the rear of your computer and refrain from using a USB hub.
For Mac users, please try resetting PRAM/NVRAM:
How to Reset PRAM or NVRAM
Q: After the firmware update, Spark GO cannot be connected via Bluetooth.
A: Navigate to the Bluetooth settings of your device, unpair or forget the previous connection with Spark GO Audio, and then open the Spark app to connect Tone Control before connecting Spark GO Audio.
Q: After the firmware update, the Spark GO no longer produces sound.
A: Try to perform a factory reset for the Spark GO. See also: Factory Reset for Spark GO
Q: What should I do if the updater gets stuck at 2% or shows Error Code: -2?
A: Try running the updater again and see if that resolves the issue.
Q: If the Bluetooth update is interrupted midway (between 5% and 37%), what should I do?
A:  Do not immediately reconnect the USB for updating. Wait for about one to two minutes until the device shuts down on its own, then restart it before attempting to communicate with the updater again.

If you encounter any of these problems after a firmware update, follow the steps below to get an alternative updater:

    • Update Failure: The update didn't finish successfully.
    • Device Problem: The Spark is unresponsive or 'bricked.'
    • LED Issue: The LED lights on the Spark are blinking.


1. Download: Download the alternative firmware updater from the links below:
macOSWindows

2. Unzip the File: Extract the downloaded file.

3. Connect Spark GO: Turn on your Spark GO and connect it to your computer with the provided USB cable.

4. Run the Updater: Launch the alternative firmware updater.

For macOS users:
Unzip the updater file, then right-click and select 'Open' to launch it.

For Windows users:

    • Double-click on Spark GO Firmware Updater with Logs.exe

    • Right-click on Spark GO Firmware Updater with Logs.exe and select "Run as administrator" to start the updater.

If you are unable to launch the firmware updater, please refer to the guide on "Open a Mac app from an unknown developer" or "How to Open EXE Files".
Rest assured, this updater is specifically designed to update your Spark amp. It is completely safe, clean, and free from viruses.

5. Wait until the terminal window appears and then disappears. Spark GO will power off automatically.

6. Disconnect Spark GO from the computer, power it on, and then connect it to the Spark app via Bluetooth to check if the update was successful. Tap on the product card, scroll down to the bottom, and check the firmware version.

 

7. Report issues:

For macOS users: 
If the update is unsuccessful, export the text from the Terminal window by clicking on the menu: Shell -> Export Text As… and send the exported file to us. 

For Windows users:
If the update is unsuccessful, send us the log.txt file from the updater’s folder.
