Spark GO Firmware Update (Tutorial Video)

Through our ongoing pursuit of perfect tone, you'll enjoy significantly improved sound flexibility with optimizations to EQ Scenario and other various fixes with this firmware update.

Before You Begin

  1. Back up your custom presets to the ToneCloud, Spark App, or your Dropbox account. See also: Backup & Restore Tone Presets.
  2. Make sure the Spark GO is not connected to any other devices via Bluetooth.
  3. Make sure the Spark GO is not connected to the computer via USB cable.

Spark GO Firmware Updater

This firmware is for Spark GO ONLY.

Using this updater with any other Spark model, such as Spark (40), Spark MINI, Spark LIVE, Spark EDGE, Spark 2, or Spark NEO may result in potential damage to your amplifier. Ensure that you are using the correct updater for your device.

System Requirements: macOS 10.13 or later / Windows 8 or later.
The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.

Instructions

Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off your Spark GO/computer during the entire update process (steps 3–6).

  1. Download and unzip/extract the Spark GO firmware updater to your computer.

  2. Launch the firmware updater:

    • For Mac users, right-click on the Spark Firmware Updater and select "Open".

    • For Windows users:
      • Double-click on Run Spark GO Firmware Updater.bat to start the updater.
      • Right-click on Run Spark GO Firmware Updater.bat and select "Run as administrator".

    Note: If you are unable to launch the firmware updater, please refer to "Open a Mac app from an unknown developer" or "Run a BAT File on Windows". The updater is completely safe and free from viruses.

  3. Connect Spark GO to your computer using the supplied USB cable and power on the Spark GO.

  4. The updater will automatically detect the amp.

  5. Click the red 'Update Firmware' button to start the update process.

  6. The firmware update is complete when you see the 'Firmware Updated' message. Click 'Done' and Spark GO will automatically turn off.

    Note: If the update keeps failing, try updating with a different computer. You can also try resetting your Spark GO to factory default before the next attempt.

  7. Done! Power up your Spark GO and start jamming.

  8. You can check the firmware version by clicking on the product card when it's connected to the Spark app.
