Bluetooth Connection Troubleshooting for Spark PEDAL – Help Center

If Spark PEDAL Audio doesn't show up in your phone or tablet's Bluetooth list, or the Spark app can't find your Spark PEDAL, work through the steps below in order.

1. Update Firmware

Start here. The latest firmware improves Bluetooth reliability and resolves most connection issues.

Over the air (OTA): Open the Spark app, connect your Spark PEDAL, then tap Check for Update on the Device Card.

USB updater: Download the updater app, connect Spark PEDAL via USB-C, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Good to know: OTA needs the Spark app already connected. If the app can't connect right now, restart Spark PEDAL and try again - or use the USB updater instead.

2. Make Sure Spark PEDAL Is in Pairing Mode

On power-on, Spark PEDAL enters pairing mode automatically. Check the Wireless Indicator:

Flashing blue - already in pairing mode, ready to connect.
Solid blue - Spark PEDAL has auto-connected to a previously paired device. Press the PAIR button on the rear panel to force it back into pairing mode.

Spark PEDAL uses two separate Bluetooth connections:

Spark PEDAL Audio - paired from your phone's Bluetooth settings, for music streaming.
Tone Control - connected from inside the Spark app.

3. Check Your Phone or Tablet

Toggle Bluetooth off and on, and stay within a few feet of Spark PEDAL.
Confirm the Spark app has Bluetooth permission:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth → Spark
- Android: Settings → Apps → Spark → Permissions
If you've paired before, jump to Reconnect from Scratch below - the residue from an old pairing is a common cause.
Try a second phone or tablet to check whether the issue follows the pedal or the device.

4. Reconnect from Scratch

If Spark PEDAL was paired before but won't connect now, clear the pairing on both your phone AND the Spark app, then re-pair. Removing only one side often leaves stale connection data behind.

Step 1: Forget in your phone's Bluetooth settings

Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings, find Spark PEDAL Audio, then tap Forget or Unpair.

Step 2: Forget in the Spark app

Open the Spark app → Menu → tap the Spark PEDAL Product Card → tap Forget this device.

Step 3: Restart and re-pair

Close the Spark app completely (remove it from your multitasking menu).
Power on Spark PEDAL. It enters pairing mode automatically. If the Wireless Indicator goes solid blue (auto-connected to another device), press the PAIR button on the rear panel to force pairing mode.
Follow the initial pairing steps to reconnect.

5. Factory Reset (Last Resort)

A Factory Reset erases your presets and Bluetooth pairing data. Back up your presets first.
