Having trouble connecting your Spark 40 to the Spark app or using it as a Bluetooth speaker? This guide covers the most common Bluetooth issues and how to resolve them.
Quick Fixes
Try these steps first before performing a Bluetooth reset:
-
Restart Bluetooth on your mobile device
Turn Bluetooth off and back on in your phone/tablet settings.
-
Close background apps
Close all other apps running in the background.
-
Turn off nearby Bluetooth devices
Disable Bluetooth on other devices like speakers, smartwatches, or headphones that might cause interference.
-
Forget and re-pair
Go to your device's Bluetooth settings, find "Spark 40" or "Spark 40 Audio", and tap Forget This Device (iOS) or Unpair (Android). Then re-pair using the Spark app.
Reset Bluetooth on Spark 40
If the quick fixes above don't work, perform a Bluetooth reset. This will clear the Bluetooth pairing memory on your Spark 40.
Before You Begin
- Go to your phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings and remove (forget) the Spark 40 from your paired devices list.
- Make sure the Spark 40 is powered off before starting the reset.
Reset Steps
-
Step 1: Power off the Spark 40
Turn off the Spark 40 using the power switch.
-
Step 2: Enter Bluetooth reset mode
Press and hold the Preset 4 button, then turn on the Spark 40 while keeping the button held down (approximately 3 seconds).
-
Step 3: Confirm the reset
Release the Preset 4 button when the TAP button starts blinking. This confirms the Bluetooth reset is complete.
-
Step 4: Re-pair your device
Open the Spark app on your mobile device and follow the on-screen instructions to pair with the Spark 40 again.
