Spark 2 Firmware Update (USB)

We highly recommend updating your amplifier's firmware to the latest version to access the newest features and enhancements for Spark 2.


Before you begin

  1. Update the Spark app to the latest version.
  2. Back up your customized presets. For guidance, refer to: Backup & Restore Tone Presets.
  3. Make sure Spark 2’s power cord is connected throughout the update process.

Offline Update

Spark 2 Firmware Updater

System Requirement: macOS 11 or later / Windows 10 or later.
The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.

  1. Download and unzip/extract the Spark 2 firmware updater to your computer.

  2. Launch the firmware updater:

    • For Mac users, please right-click on the Spark Firmware Updater and select "Open".

      ① After encountering the warning window, click 'OK,' then right-click on the Spark Firmware Updater and select 'Open' again.
      ② You will encounter the warning window once more. Please click 'Open' to proceed with executing the updater.

    • For Windows users, please right-click on the "Spark 2 firmware Updater.bat" and select "Run as Administrator" to proceed. Do not run the updater in the zip.
  3. Plug in the power cord and turn on the Spark 2. Connect your Spark 2 to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

    Make sure the power cord is connected to the Spark 2 during the firmware update process, even if the Spark Battery is installed.
  4. Click "Next" and wait for a moment, and the updater will display the device type (which should be Spark 2) and the version to install.

  5. Click "Update Wireless Module," and the updater will proceed to update the wireless module on the Spark 2.

    Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off your Spark 2/computer while updating.
  6. To update the MCU (microcontroller unit), simultaneously press and hold the power button and the pair button until the power LED lights up in white. Then click "Next".

  7. Wait for a moment, and the updater will display the device type and the version to install. Click "Update MCU".

  8. The updater will proceed to update the MCU on Spark 2.

    Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off your Spark 2/computer while updating.
  9. Done! You can now quit the updater, power up your Spark 2, and you are ready to rock!

    If attempts to update the firmware keep failing, please try to update the firmware with a different computer. 
    Also, try resetting your Spark 2 to factory default before the next attempt.
  10. You can check the firmware version of the Spark 2 by clicking on the product card when it's connected to the Spark app.
