Spark EDGE Firmware Troubleshooting

If you encounter any of these problems after a firmware update, follow the steps below to get an alternative updater:

    • Update Failure: The update didn't finish successfully.
    • Device Problem: The Spark EDGE is unresponsive or 'bricked.'

Q: After the firmware update, my Spark EDGE powers on but is unresponsive.
A: Please perform a factory reset.
Q: My computer does not detect Spark EDGE.
A: Please attempt to connect to a different USB port directly on the rear of your computer and refrain from using a USB hub.
Q: Spark EDGE cannot be connected via Bluetooth after the firmware update.
A: Navigate to your device's Bluetooth settings, unpair or forget the previous connection with Spark EDGE Audio, and then open the Spark app to connect Tone Control before connecting Spark EDGE Audio.
Q: The firmware update failed, and now I can't anymore power on the Spark EDGE.
A: If the power is interrupted during the MCU update process, the Spark EDGE may fail to power on. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Factory Reset: If Spark EDGE still doesn't respond, proceed with the steps below. 
2. Disconnect USB: Unplug the USB cable to disconnect the Spark EDGE from your computer.
3. Disconnect Power: Unplug the Spark EDGE from the power outlet.
4. Download Alternative Firmware Updater: macOSWindows
5. Unzip and Launch Updater:

For macOS users:

Unzip the updater file, then right-click and select 'Open' to launch it.


For Windows users:

Unzip the updater file, then right-click and select 'Run as administrator' to launch it.

6. Connect the Spark EDGE to your computer via the USB cable, then follow the instructions within the alternative updater to complete the process.
