Bluetooth Connection Troubleshooting for Spark 40

Before you start

Please ensure the Spark app and the firmware on the Spark 40 have been updated to the latest version.

First-Time Connection

To connect to the Spark app and Spark 40 Audio, please ensure you follow the instructions provided in the article here: Pairing the Spark 40 with a Mobile Device via Bluetooth .

If you encounter issues connecting, try the following steps:

  1. Check Bluetooth Permissions
    iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth → Enable for Spark App
    Android: Settings → Apps → Spark App → Permissions → Enable Bluetooth and Nearby Devices

  2. Ensure Spark 40 is in Pairing Mode
    The Spark 40 automatically enters pairing mode when powered on. The Bluetooth LED should be flashing.

  3. If "Spark 40 Audio" doesn't appear on the Bluetooth list, please attempt a factory reset for Spark 40 .

  4. Update the firmware on your Spark 40 if the Spark app is connectable. For instructions on how to update the firmware, please refer to the following link: Spark 40 Firmware Update .

For Returning Connections

If you're having trouble reconnecting Spark 40 to the Spark app, please follow these steps:

  1. Forget the Device in Bluetooth Settings

    If the Spark 40 has been previously paired as an audio device, navigate to the Bluetooth list, find "Spark 40 Audio," and forget or unpair the device.

  2. Forget the Device in the Spark App

    If Spark 40 was paired in the Spark app, open the app and go to the Menu tab. Select the Spark 40 product card to open product details, then tap "Forget this device."

  3. Reset Bluetooth

    iOS: Settings → Bluetooth → Toggle Bluetooth OFF, wait 10 seconds, then toggle ON
    Android: Settings → System/General Management → Reset → Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi

    Android Users: On some Android devices, Location services may affect access to Bluetooth devices. Please ensure both Location and Bluetooth are turned on in your system settings.

  4. Reconnect

    1. Close the Spark app by removing it from your smartphone's multitasking menu.
    2. Reboot both your phone and Spark 40.
    3. Power on Spark 40 (it will automatically enter pairing mode).
    4. Open the Spark App and search for "Spark 40".
    5. Once paired in the Spark App, go to your phone's Bluetooth settings and connect "Spark 40 Audio".

    Android Users: If the Android system asks for "Spark BLE" connection permission, please choose NO. The BLE connection must go through the Spark App.
