Use this offline method when Wi-Fi isn't available, or when troubleshooting an OTA update. When a firmware update is released, you can install it via USB using the Spark PEDAL Firmware Updater.

Before You Begin
- Update the Spark app to the latest version.
- Back up your customized presets. See Backup & Restore Tone Presets.
- Make sure Spark PEDAL has enough battery, or keep the USB-C power cable connected during the update.
Offline Update
Spark PEDAL Firmware Updater
System Requirements: macOS 11 or later / Windows 10 or later.
The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.
- Download and unzip/extract the Spark PEDAL firmware updater to your computer.
- Launch the firmware updater:
- For Mac users: right-click on the Spark PEDAL Firmware Updater and select Open.

For Windows users: double-click
Spark PEDAL Firmware Updater.bat, or right-click and select Run as administrator.
- Connect Spark PEDAL to your computer using a USB-C cable. Make sure Spark PEDAL is powered on.
- Click Next in the updater. It will detect Spark PEDAL and display the version to install.
- Click Update Wireless Module. The updater will proceed to update the wireless module on Spark PEDAL.
- To update the MCU (microcontroller unit), enter MCU update mode on Spark PEDAL: hold the Power and Pair buttons until the Power LED starts blinking. Then click Next.
- The updater displays the device type and version to install. Click Update MCU.
- The updater proceeds to update the MCU on Spark PEDAL.
- Done! Quit the updater and power on Spark PEDAL.
- Verify the firmware version on the Device Card in the Spark app. See Spark PEDAL Firmware Release Notes to confirm the latest version.
