← Back to REACTOR Amp User Guide
REACTOR does not have a local file export for presets. The way to preserve your presets is to upload them to your Positive Grid account via ToneCloud. Your uploads stay tied to your account and can be re-downloaded from any device signed in to the REACTOR App.
Before You Begin
- Update the REACTOR App to the latest version.
- Sign in to the REACTOR App with your Positive Grid account.
- Make sure the REACTOR amp is powered on and connected to the app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
- You will need an internet connection to upload / download from ToneCloud.
Two Backup Methods
REACTOR has no local-file export for presets. There are two ways to preserve a preset, and they serve different purposes.
| Method | What it does | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Hardware → App | Save a copy of the hardware preset into the REACTOR App on your phone / tablet | Everyday backup: before Factory Reset, before firmware updates, before overwriting a slot |
| 2. App → ToneCloud | Upload an app preset to your Positive Grid account on ToneCloud | Cross-device sync, or if you want to protect against losing the phone / tablet |
Method 1 - Hardware → App
Save a copy of each hardware preset into your REACTOR App's local library.
- Open the REACTOR App and connect to your REACTOR amp.
- Tap a preset button on the REACTOR amp to load it.
- Tap the three-dot menu button to the left of the preset name to open Preset Actions.
- Tap Save as New, then select the Preset Folder where you'd like to save it.
- Repeat for each hardware preset you want to back up.
To put a saved preset back on the amp, open its three-dot menu and tap Assign to REACTOR, then choose which hardware slot to write to.
Method 2 - App → ToneCloud
Upload an app preset to your Positive Grid account on ToneCloud. Your uploads are tied to your account and can be re-downloaded from any device signed in to the REACTOR App.
- Open the REACTOR App, signed in to your Positive Grid account.
- In the Preset Menu, open the All folder (or wherever your preset lives).
- Tap the three-dot button to the left of the preset name to open Preset Actions.
- Tap Upload to ToneCloud, confirm the preset name, and tap Upload.
- To restore later, sign in with the same account, go to Settings (gear icon in the top-right), then tap your name - you'll find the presets and amps you uploaded there.
Notes & Limitations
- No bulk backup / restore. You back up and restore one preset at a time via the three-dot Preset Actions menu.
- No local-file export. You cannot save presets as a .zip or .json to your phone's file system. ToneCloud is the only backup channel.
- Account-bound. Uploads are tied to the Positive Grid account that uploaded them. Sign in with the same account on any device to access them.
- ToneCloud separation. REACTOR App's ToneCloud is separate from the Spark app, BIAS FX 2, and BIAS AMP 2 ToneCloud. Presets do not cross between apps.
- Factory Reset wipes amp presets. If you have not uploaded them to ToneCloud first, they are gone. Make sure to back up before running Reset All or Reset Factory Presets.
