Spark MINI Firmware Update (Tutorial Video)

Through our ongoing pursuit of the perfect tone, you’ll enjoy significantly improved sound flexibility with optimizations to EQ Scenario and other various fixes with this firmware update.

Spark MINI Firmware Updater

This firmware is for Spark MINI ONLY.

Using this updater with any other Spark model such as Spark (40), Spark GO, Spark LIVE, Spark EDGE, Spark 2, or Spark NEO may result in potential damage to your amplifier. Ensure that you are using the correct updater for your device to avoid any risks or issues.

System Requirement: macOS 10.13 or later / Windows 8 or later.
The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.

Before starting the process
  1. Back up your custom presets to the ToneCloud, Spark App, or your Dropbox account before you proceed with the firmware update.

Please be informed:
Make sure the Spark MINI is not connected to any other devices via Bluetooth.
Make sure the Spark MINI is not connected to the computer via a USB cable.

  1. Download and unzip/extract the Spark MINI firmware updater to your computer.

  2. Launch the firmware updater:

      • For Mac users, right-click on "Spark MINI Firmware Updater" and select "Open".
      • For Windows users, you can do either of the following:

        • Double-click on Spark_MINI_Firmware_Updater_Win_vx_xx_x_xx.exe

        • Right-click on Spark_MINI_Firmware_Updater_Win_vx_xx_x_xx.exe and select "Run as administrator" to start the updater.
    If you are unable to launch the firmware updater, please refer to the guide on "Open a Mac app from an unknown developer" or "How to Open EXE Files".
    Rest assured, this updater is specifically designed to update your Spark amp. It is completely safe, clean, and free from viruses.

  3. Connect Spark MINI to your computer using the supplied USB cable and power it on, then click "OK. Go Next".

  4. Long-press and hold the Pair and Power buttons on the rear panel of the Spark MINI until all preset LEDs start to blink. The firmware updater will automatically detect if the update is available.

  5. Click the red ‘Update Firmware’ button to start the update process.

    Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off your Spark MINI/computer while updating.
    For Mac users, since Spark MINI firmware v1.9.2, an additional program (Python v2.7) is required to be installed for the firmware update to proceed. Please rest assured that this program is in no way harmful to your computer and personal information. If you wish, you may uninstall the program after the firmware update is completed.

  6. The firmware update is complete when you see the ‘Spark MINI is Up-to-Date’ message. Click ‘Done’, and Spark MINI will automatically turn off.

    If attempts to update the firmware keep failing, please try to update the firmware with a different computer. 
    Also, try resetting your Spark amp to factory default before the next attempt.

  7. Done! Now power up your Spark MINI and start jamming.

  8. You can check the firmware version of the Spark MINI by clicking on the product card when it's connected to the Spark app.
