⚠This firmware is for Spark MINI ONLY.

Using this updater with any other Spark model such as Spark 40, Spark GO, or Spark LIVE may result in potential damage to your amplifier. Ensure that you are using the correct updater for your device to avoid any risks or issues.

 

 

System Requirement:

macOS 10.13 or later / Windows 8 or later.

The updater does NOT run on Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or any other systems.

Instructions:

*Before starting the process, back up your custom presets to the ToneCloud, Spark App, or your Dropbox account before you proceed with the firmware update.

*Make sure the Spark MINI is not connected to any other devices via Bluetooth.

0. Make sure the Spark MINI is not connected to the computer.

 

 

1. Download the firmware updater and unzip/extract the file.

 

 

2. Launch the firmware updater.

 

Please rest assured that the firmware updater is completely secure and designed exclusively for updating your Spark amp's firmware. Our product team is aware of this issue and is working to provide the best experience in the future. In the meantime, you can manually force the update by following the steps below:

*For Mac users, please right-click on the Spark MINI Firmware Updater and select "Open".

 

 

After encountering the warning window, click 'OK,' then right-click on the Spark MINI Firmware Updater and select 'Open' again.

 

 

You will encounter the warning window once more. Please click 'Open' to proceed with executing the updater.

 

 

 

 

*For Windows users, please right-click on the updater and select "Run as Administrator" to proceed. Do not run the updater in the zip.

 



 

3. Connect Spark MINI to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

 

 

 

4. Power on the Spark MINI, and click ‘OK, Go Next’ within the firmware updater.

 




5. Press and hold the Pair and Power buttons on the rear panel of Spark MINI until the preset LEDs start to blink. The firmware updater will detect if the update is available.





6. Click the red ‘Update Firmware’ button to start the update process.
*DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE OR TURN OFF YOUR SPARK MINI/COMPUTER WHILE UPDATING*

*For Mac users, since Spark MINI firmware v1.9.2, an additional program (Python v2.7) is required to be installed for the firmware update to proceed. Please rest assured that this program is in no way harmful to your computer and personal information. If you wish, you may uninstall the program after the firmware update is completed.

7. The firmware update is complete when you see the ‘Firmware Updated’ message. Click ‘Done’ and Spark MINI will automatically turn off.

8. Done! Now power up your Spark MINI and start jamming.

 

9. You can also check the firmware version of the Spark by clicking the product card.

Troubleshooting

Q: My computer does not detect Spark MINI.
A: Please try another USB port and avoid using a USB hub. 

 

Q: What should I do if the updater gets stuck at 2% or shows Error Code: -2?
A: Try running the updater again and see if that resolves the issue.

 

Q: After the firmware update, all four preset LEDs on Spark MINI start flashing when powered on.
A: Retry running the updater once more. This can often resolve the issue of a failed update.

 

Q: After the firmware update, Spark MINI cannot be connected via Bluetooth.
A: Navigate to the Bluetooth settings of your device, unpair or forget the previous connection with Spark MINI Audio, and then open the Spark app to connect Tone Control before connecting Spark MINI Audio.
