This guide helps you connect your Spark amp to the Spark app for tone control and audio streaming. Pick your amp model below to see the steps for your model.
Why two Bluetooth connections?
Tone Control (required) — pairs your Spark amp with the Spark app so you can browse presets, edit tones, tune, and access ToneCloud. This connection is made from inside the Spark app, not from your phone's Bluetooth settings.
Bluetooth Audio (optional) — streams audio from your phone or tablet through the amp's speakers, useful for playing along with backing tracks or YouTube. This is made from your phone's Bluetooth settings (Settings → Bluetooth), separate from the Tone Control pairing.
You can also use the Spark amp as a regular Bluetooth speaker while playing guitar — the amp mixes Bluetooth audio and your guitar signal together, so you can jam over music from any app on your phone (Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, etc.).
Bluetooth permissions on your phone
If the Spark app can't find your amp, or Spark Audio isn't appearing in your phone's Bluetooth settings, check that Bluetooth permission is enabled for the Spark app.
iOS / iPadOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth → enable Spark.
Android: Settings → Apps → Spark → Permissions → enable Bluetooth and Nearby devices (or Location on older Android versions).

Spark 2
Follow this guide to connect your Spark 2 to the Spark app via Bluetooth, or to use your Spark 2 as a Bluetooth speaker for music playback.
Connect to the Spark app (Tone Control)

- Power on the Spark 2.
- Open the Spark app and tap 'Connect'.
Make sure you turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- The Spark app will start to search for nearby Spark 2 devices.
- If multiple Spark devices are present, select the Spark 2 with your serial number to ensure you’re connecting to the correct device.The serial number can be found on the side of the outer package and the bottom of the Spark 2.

- You can always check the connection status on the product card in the 'Menu' tab.
Connect to the mobile device (Bluetooth Audio)

- Open the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device:
iOS: Settings → Bluetooth
Android: Settings → Connections → Bluetooth
- Tap the PAIR button on the rear control panel while the Spark 2 is powered on.
Only the Bluetooth LED starts to breathe.
If both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi LEDs are breathing together, it means you held the pair button too long, and the Spark 2 is now in pairing mode with Spark Control X. In this case, Spark 2 Audio will not appear on the Bluetooth list.
- In the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device, look for Spark 2 Audio in the list of available devices.
- Tap on Spark 2 Audio to pair and connect.
- Open the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device:
Spark EDGE

Connect to the Spark app (Tone Control)
- Power on the Spark EDGE.

Open the Spark app and tap 'Connect'.
Make sure you turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device. - The Spark app will start to search for nearby Spark EDGE devices.

Select the Spark EDGE with the serial number if multiple Spark devices are present to ensure you’re connecting to the correct device.
The serial number can be found on the side of the outer package and the bottom of the Spark EDGE.

Connect to the Spark app (Tone Control)

- Power on the Spark LIVE.
- Open the Spark app and tap 'Connect'.
Make sure you turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile device. - The Spark app will start to search the nearby Spark LIVE.

If there are multiple Spark devices present, select the Spark LIVE with your serial number to ensure you’re connecting to the correct device.
The first connection attempt will take longer than usual because the Spark App needs to sync with the onboard presets from the Spark LIVE. -
You'll see a 'Successfully connected' message when the Spark app is connected to the Spark LIVE.

- Power on the Spark LIVE.
Connect to the mobile device (Bluetooth Audio)

- Press the Pair button on the rear control panel while the Spark LIVE is powered on.
- In the Bluetooth settings on your mobile device, look for Spark LIVE Audio in the list of available devices.
- Tap on Spark LIVE Audio to pair and connect.
- Spark LIVE will automatically pair with the last device it was connected to. If the last device is not available, Spark LIVE will automatically connect to a device that has been previously paired.
- To pair a Spark LIVE as a wireless Bluetooth speaker with your mobile device, press the Pair button on the rear panel, turn on Bluetooth® in your mobile device settings, and select “Spark LIVE Audio” from the list of scanned devices.
- Spark LIVE will automatically pair with the last device it was connected to. If the last device is not available, Spark LIVE will automatically connect to a device that has been previously paired.

Spark NEO
Follow this guide to connect your Spark NEO Headphones to the Spark app via Bluetooth, or to use your Spark NEO Headphones as a Bluetooth speaker for music playback.

- Tap on "Spark NEO Audio" to pair and connect.
- If no device connects within one minute, Spark NEO will exit Pairing Mode.
- If needed, restart the pairing process by pressing the Pair button again.
Spark NEO Core

- Spark MINI will exit Pairing Mode if no devices are connected within one minute of entering Pairing Mode.
- To pair a Spark MINI as a wireless Bluetooth speaker with your mobile device, press the Pair button on the rear panel, turn on Bluetooth® in your mobile device settings, and select “Spark MINI Audio” from the list of scanned devices.
- Spark MINI is capable of remembering 2 devices in its memory. If the most recently connected device is not detected, it will try to connect to the 2nd one.
- Spark MINI will exit Pairing Mode if no devices are connected within one minute of entering Pairing Mode.
